If you are on Windows 10 and find that your audio or sound is not working properly, you are not alone. Many Windows users report that their voice does not work or cuts out and there are many problems.
But no problem, usually not a difficult problem to solve. Here are 5 more effective ways to help you deal with the audio problem. You don't have to try them all. Just go up and find what works for you.
Method 1: check the cable connection and volume
Method 2: disable audio enrichment
Method 3: update the sound driver
1: Check cable connection and volume
Before making changes to the software, we must rule out any possible human error. So, check if:
There are loose wires or faulty connectors in your speaker and headphone connections.
Volume and power are controlled.
More volume controls for apps.
Headphones are plugged in - your speakers may not work if you are wearing headphones.
2: Turn off Audio Enhancements
The audio enhancement feature is supposed to make your sound card stand out, but unfortunately, not all sound card hardware works properly when powered on. You can turn it off:
On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and R at the same time, type type control, and hit enter.
Look through the big icons, click the sound.
On the playback tab, right click on the default device you have and click Properties.
Go to Enrichment tab, check the box to disable sound effects.
See if your voice is back. If you still can't return your voice, cancel here with your other default device, and then repeat 2) and 3) and try again.
3: Update sound driverĀ
If good signals do not appear after the first two methods, you may be using the wrong driver.
There are two ways to get the right driver for your voice or audio card: manually or automatically.
Manual driver update - You can manually update your audio driver by visiting your audio card manufacturer's website and finding the latest valid driver. Make sure you select only one driver that suits your Windows 10 variant.
Automatic driver updates - If you don't have the time, patience, or computer skills to manually update your audio drivers, you can do so automatically with Driver Easy. The Iobit Driver Booster will automatically recognize your system and find the exact driver for your exact audio card and its Windows 10 variant, and download and install them:
You can update your drivers automatically with Free or Pro version of Driver Easy. But with the Pro version it only takes 2 clicks:
1) Download and install driver booster.
2) Easily run the driver and click the Scan Now button. Driver Easy will then scan your computer and detect any driver problems.
3) Click the Update button with the audio device to automatically download and install the correct version of this driver (you can with the free version).
Or click Update All to automatically download and install the correct version of all missing or outdated drivers on your system (this requires the Pro version. When you click on Update All, you can Will be prompted to update).
